The project's goal was to create a modern, professional, and accessible marketing website to showcase Sheartime's impressive watch collection. This included organizing a photoshoot for the watches. The main focus of the website is the watch collection page, allowing users to easily search, discover, and request watches. The design and functionality were crafted to provide an excellent experience for watch enthusiasts and customers.
Sheartime, led by Andrew Shear, is a leading authority on luxury watches, especially vintage Rolexes. Starting as a hobby, it has grown into a worldwide business known for collecting important timepieces and sharing notable expertise.
After the launch, their website traffic came mainly from direct, organic, and social referrals, an improvement from our original analysis where most traffic came only from social media. The stakeholder was very pleased with the design, especially the watch collection page, which was the focal point of the website.
Perpetual redesigned my website’s front- and backend to make it more user-friendly, straightforward, and modern. Perpetual’s team is very efficient compared to other providers… I don’t think there’s anything they could improve on.
The project followed an agile approach, commencing with an initial UX Analysis and advancing through Research, Design, Development, and Validation stages.
We kept in regular contact with the founder by scheduling weekly check-in meetings. To ensure a smooth hand-off, we documented everything in Notion, including details, tickets, and links for all completed tasks. After developing, we also created detailed training materials to make it easy to adjust the website using Webflow.
We built the website on Webflow using its content management system (CMS) capabilities. For frequently updated sections that followed a repeating visual structure, we utilized Webflow CMS to speed up our workflow. With this strategy, we only needed to build the website’s structure once and have the content auto-populate from the CMS.
To streamline maintenance, we integrated social media to auto-update the website with the latest images from Sheartime’s Instagram feed. As Instagram is Sheartime's primary platform, this ensures the website remains current with minimal effort, displaying the latest watch photos and content without manual updates.
The newly designed Sheartime website has significantly boosted user engagement and satisfaction. Its appealing design and intuitive interface now attract a more diverse range of visitors from a balanced mix of direct, organic, and social traffic referrals.
Users find it easier to search, discover, and request watches due to the improved search and filter functionality. The seamless integration of Instagram keeps the site current and visually engaging, reflecting Sheartime's active social media presence.
