Teach For India is part of the global Teach for All movement. Their vision is to recruit qualified college graduates and professionals to serve as full-time teachers in low-income schools.
Teach for India's goal was to build Firki, an open-source online training portal to achieve their vision of training India's 10 million Pre-B-Ed Teachers. They approached Perpetual to achieve the following objectives:
Provide teachers with tools to ensure students are achieving their educational goals
Help teachers to lead and collaborate within the school community
Provide teachers with strategies for organizing teaching plans
Iterative Process
Frequent and open communication in the form of standup meetings, weekly updates, a shared project plan and user story tracker.
End-to-end Solution
We provided a turn-key solution across UX Design, Software Development, and Platform Hosting. This simplified the workflow and eliminated dependencies, driving accuracy and efficiency.
Multiple Design Options
We created alternative design mockups to convey various final product directions, from which our client could select their preferred option.
Best Practice for User Migration
Seamless data migration and user engagement metrics were key principles we followed during the user migration process. We created a solution to invite previous platform users to the new platform and re-engaged with inactive users by informing them about the transition.
Included multiple Call-to-Action buttons throughout the site based on clients’ feedback. Presented a clearer articulation of the value proposition and introduced a more concise copy to resolve information overload.
Multimedia course content to increase engagement and an interface that makes it easier to manage course information and course content.
Encourage people to self-register on the platform and migrate users from Firki’s previous platform, LearnDash on WordPress to a new Open Edx platform.
Included filters based on focus area and course languages to make course discovery more efficient and simple.
The new platform with a brand new design theme, based on the powerful Open edX education platform was delivered in time, allowing Teach for India to train their fellows more easily towards achieving their mission.
